Prima che finissi di leggere questo libro, il mio Kindle non mi ha permesso di continuare a mantenere le mie evidenziazioni. Era bloccato. Ho dovuto riavviarlo per finire di leggerlo, e grazia ad un Amazon User, che chiamerò d'ora in avanti Amazon Helper, sono riuscita a fare in modo che funzionasse di nuovo. Ma, questo pomeriggio, ho scoperto che quando si è bloccato mi ha cancellato tutte le evidenziazioni che avevo fatto nel libro, e ho dovuto rileggerlo veloce e sottolinearle di nuovo. E' stato un lavoro duro, spero perciò che apprezzerete la mia recensione!

RECENSIONE
La strada che ho percorso nella scrittura di questa recensione è stata difficoltosa e irta di ostacoli, e, oltre a ciò, mi sono sentita abbastanza male stamattina. Dovrei farmi un controllo medico dove sono stata operata l'anno scorso. Ma odio fare queste cose. Odio tornare all'ospedale di nuovo, anche se devo fare solo un controllo al mio corpo.
Ma non deragliamo dall'argomento principale: la recensione di questo sexy e hot romanzo, "Hidden Seams" di Alessandra torre. Avery McKenna è una donna dura, una donna che fa un lavoro pericoloso in cui mette a rischio la sua vita. E' una riciclatrice di denaro, e fa ciò per aiutare gli immigranti a trovare un lavoro, di solito illegale, ed è incaricata di pagarli ogni mese. Lei non sa chi sia suo padre prima dell'inizio del romanzo, meno ancora sua madre - una vecchia donna che ha conosciuto soltanto due anni prima dell'inizio del libro. Il desiderio di conoscere il padre biologico la porterà alla più inaspettata realizzazione di tutte; Vince Horace potrebbe essere suo padre e la foto che possiede lo dimostra. Avery non ha mai avuto una vera famiglia, è passata da una famiglia adottiva all'altra, fino a quando non è stata affidata a dei ricconi che si preoccupavano davvero per lei, ma le davano solo beni materiali, ma non ciò che realmente desiderava: una sincera unione con delle persone a cui davvero importava di lei. Sì, i McKenna possono esser stati ricchi, ma erano freddi e non le davano l'affatto di cui aveva bisogno. Dall'altra parte abbiamo Marco Lent, famoso nel mondo queer come l'alpha dominante nella coppia composta da lui e Vince, un uomo così figo e hot che il suo aspetto fisico non passerà inosservato alle più attente lettrici. Sono passati 10 anni da quando Marco ha firmato quel primo contratto con Vince, 10 anni in cui un uomo eterosessuale ha finto di essere gay per diventare qualcuno nel mondo della moda.

Ma Marco Lent, sotto quella facciata da stronzo arrogante, nasconde un animo gentile. Ci vorrà molto per lui affinché questo suo lato venga a galla, dato che nel mondo della moda e dappertutto, è famoso per essere uno stronzo... e questo sarà qualcosa che non cambierà. Incontra questa bellissima donna nel vicolo della sua mansione e la colpisce con la sua limousine. Dopo averla salvata, avrà il miglior sesso della sua vita con questa sconosciuta. Una sexy sconosciuta che conquisterà la sua mente e il suo corpo sin dal primo momento che vi poserà gli occhi. Il contratto che aveva fatto con Vince, contratto che gli aveva dato il suo status attuale e la sua miliardaria residenza compresa di staff, inizia ad esser messo in questione da Marco stesso dopo quel sesso spettacolare con Avery. La sensazione di essere perso e senza alcuna direzione verrà messo da parte dal fuoco che sarà stato acceso in lui grazie a lei.

Mentre Marco scopre chi Avery McKenna realmente sia, lui è scioccato dalla telefonata del suo avvocato, che gli dice che Avery potrebbe davvero essere la figlia di Vince. Ciò ch'è iniziata come una bollente relazione basata sul sesso, cambierà gli eventi e metterà il suo mondo sotto sopra. Nessuno, nel mondo, sa che Marco è un eterosessuale. Lo sviluppo degli eventi cambierà ogni cosa, ma sopra ogni cosa, gli farà realizzare che vuole un futuro con lei. Il focus principale della storia è dato dalla ricerca, di Avery, del suo vero padre. Un padre che non ha mai conosciuto. E il mondo della moda, in questo caso, l'impero che Vince Horace ha creato e la sua eredità a Marco, ma anche la sua difficoltà nel trovare il suo posto nel mondo senza Vince, un mondo che sembra vacuo e senza scopo senza il suo partner. Una lotta per mantenere un segreto che potrebbe distruggere la sua intera vita e la sua carriera allo stesso tempo .
Essendo la prima volta che leggevo Alessandra Torre, non sono per niente rimasta delusa. E' davvero una grande autrice, capace di mischiare il sesso, e le scene sessuale, con scene contenenti un profondo significato. E' un talento che pochi autori hanno. Sarò eternamente grata a Netgalley, e, sopra ogni cosa, alla CE Weapenry Co-Op per avermi permesso di leggere e recensire questo fantastico romanzo. Leggerò anche "Lingerie", il primo che ho saltato senza saperlo.
Vi saluto con una citazione tratta da questo romanzo e credetemi, è stato faticoso trovare una citazione che non fosse spoilerosa per voi. Ancor più difficile, considerando quanto io abbia amato questo libro. Le 5 stelle che ho dato su Goodreads non sono state - non sono - sufficienti per me. Questo è davvero uno dei migliori romanzi del 2018, per me.

Before I finished reading this book, my Kindle wouldn’t allow me to continue reading it. It was blocked. I had to wait for it to restart in order to finish reading, and thanks to the Amazon User, who i will now rename Amazon Helper, I got it right and it functioned again. But, right this afternoon, I discovered that the blocking had cancelled me all the highlights I had done on the book, so I had to rummage through it in order to get those highlights. It was a really hard work, I hope you all like my review!

The road to this review it’s been really difficult and full of obstacles, on top of that, I didn’t feel well this morning. Guess I need to do a health check on the area where I got surgery one year ago. Yeah, I hate these things. Gosh, I hate turning to the hospital again, even if I have to only a body check. Mine.
But let’s not derail from the main topic: the review of the wonderfully steamy and sexy novel “Hidden Seams” by Alessandra Torre. Avery McKenna is a tough woman, a woman who does a dangerous and life-threatening job: she’s a money launderer, and she does what she does in order to help immigrants to find job, usually illegal, and it’s in charge to pay them every month. She doesn’t know who her real father his, least her mother - an old woman who she has known only two years prior the beginning of the novel. The desire to get to know her father will lead her to most unexpected realization of all, Vince Horace might be her father and the photo she has, demonstrate it. Avery has never had a real family, she has been in an adoptive family that gave her everything material, but not the only thing she really desired: a true union between people who really cared for her, who did their best to put her at ease. Yes, the McKenna might have been rich, but they were cold and didn’t give her the affection she needed. On the other hand, Marco Lent is known to the queer world as the dominating male in the couple of him and Vince, a man so hot with a peculiar trait of his physic that won’t go unnoticed to the most attentive readers. Ten years have passed since Marco first signed that agreement with Vince, ten years in which a straight man was forced to pretend to be gay in order to be known in the fashion world.

But Marco Lent, under that façade of asshole and dickhead, is a softie. It will take a lot for this side of him to come out, because in the fashion world, everywhere, he is famous for being a dick... and this is something that can’t change. He meets this gorgeous woman in the alley of his mansion and almost hit her with his limo, after saving her, he will have the best sex of his life with this stranger. A sexy stranger who conquered his mind and body from the first time he laid eyes on her. The agreement he had done with Vince, the agreement that has given him his actual status and his billion-worthy residence and staff, begins to be questioned by Marco himself after that amazing sex with Avery. The feeling of being lost and with no directions, put aside by the fire that has sparked within him thanks to her.

The novel’s structured by the two different POVs of Marco Lent and Avery McKenna, allowing the reader to get in touch with the characters' feelings and deep emotions. The focus on the story is the search, of Avery, of her biological father. A father she has never knew. And the fashion world, in this case, the empire of fashion that Vince Horace has built, and his legacy to Marco, but also his struggle to find his way in his new world without Vince, a world that seems pointless and empty without his partner in it. A struggle to keep a secret that might destroy his entire life and career at the same time.
As a first time with Alessandra Torre, I wasn’t disappointed. She is truly a great author, able to mix sex, and sexual themes, with scenes with deep meaning. And that’s a talent very few authors have. I’m so grateful to Netgalley, and above all, to Weapenry Co-Op to let me read and review this wondeful, this amazing book. I will also read Lingerie, the first one I had skipped without knowing it.
I salute you all with a quote from this book, and believe me, I’m struggling to find a quote that won’t be a spoiler for you. That’s really difficult, considering how much I loved this book. The five stars I gave to it on Goodreads, aren’t - weren’t enough for me. This is truly the best romance/erotica book of 2018, for me.
