Buona sera, bloggers e lettori! Quando attraverso momenti difficili, Leslie North è tra quelle scrittrici in grado di farmi sentire meglio. Come ho scritto nella precedente recensione, quella di "Shattered Love", stavo attraversando un gran brutto periodo nella mia famiglia a causa di una perdita che ci ha scioccato tutti. Leggere mi sta aiutando e a breve tornerò a scrivere, perché la parte artistica di me mi sta richiamando a gran voce. Penso che l'unico modo per stare meglio è dare ascolto al tuo lato artistico (in questo caso, la scrittura) che ti chiama dopo un periodo difficile. Scrivere e leggere sono le mie vie di fuga. 

PREMESSA

Ho iniziato a leggere Leslie North ieri, e come mi aspettavo, ho finito il libro oggi. Leslie è una grande scrittrice, ma vorrei che la cover dei suoi romanzi rispecchiasse gli stessi, cosa che non è successa in una della Azhar Sheikhs Trilogy. In questo caso la cover ha rispecchiato il contenuto alla grande, ma nel secondo romanzo di questa trilogia non è successo. Ho amato questo libro davvero molto, e a mio avviso è il migliore di tutti.

SINOSSI (DA GOODREADS) 

La vita di Juliette è il lavoro - è senza cuore, determinata e si è fatta una reputazione di donna in carriera capace di mettere in riga i CEO e permettergli di raggiungere il loro massimo potenziale. Quando viene assunta dalla reale famiglia Azhar per controllare il capo della loro divisione tecnologica, lo Sceicco Basri Azhar, non vede l'ora di toccare con mano la sfida. L'azienda si trova ad un punto critico, e l'aiuto di Juliette tornerà utile per mantenere le redini di quest'ultima, tenendo d'occhio il giovane CEO. Non dovrebbe essere un problema - fino a quando Juliette incontra Basri. E' bellissimo, carismatico e molto più difficile da maneggiare di quanto avrebbe mai potuto immaginare. Ma Juliette non si arrenderà. Non ha mai incontrato un capo che non è riuscita a domare.

Messo in confronto con i suoi due fratelli maggiori, Basri è sempre stato quello più simile per carattere e desideri al padre. Da' molto valore al duro lavoro e alla genuinità, sebbene preferisca un approccio destrtutturato a riguardo. Questo è il motivo per cui Basri non sta quasi mai in ufficio. Dopo tutto, fa del suo meglio quando cammina da solo, all'aperto, nelle zone selvagge dell'Arabia. La sua nuova assistente, Juliette, è una forza della natura. E' bella, intelligente e disciplinata... e Basri deve continuamente ricordare a sé stesso di mantenere una distanza professionale. Ma dopo settimane e settimane di tentativi di piegarla al suo volere, Basri decide di provarci in un altro modo. 

 

Quando Basri la invita a partecipare alla sua prossima avventura, Juliette non ha la più pallida idea di cosa stia andando incontro. Ma lontano dalla Sala del Consiglio e sotto le stelle, Juliette inizia a vedere il vero Basri e non vede l'ora di conoscerlo più a fondo...

 

RECENSIONE

"The Sheikh's Surprise Triplets" è l'epico finale della Trilogia degli Sceicchi di Azhar, una trilogia che mischia scene sexy e di sesso con argomenti reali, come l'energia verde e programmi sociali per aiutare i meno fortunati.

Ma partiamo dal principio: Juliette è una donna forte e indipendente che ha lavorato sodo per arrivare dov'è ora. E' chiamata da Safyia per aiutare la divisione tecnologica del suo figlio minore, Basri. Tuttavia Basri è tutto tranne prevedibile: ricco, giovane e creativo, fa ciò che sa fare meglio: creare il caos, ma in quel caos trova l'ispirazione per aiutare gli altri. Si sentirà subito attratto da Juliette, e questi sentimenti sono ricambiati da lei. Juliette, dal canto suo, nasconde un passato doloroso, strettamente connesso al fatto che non può avere figli e vive tutto ciò come uno stigma sociale.

That was when her career still had more rugs to ascend. And now, here she was: at the top of the ladder looking down. Wondering how the hell she’d gotten up here, and if she’s packed a parachute. (Juliette) 

Le settimane passano, e l'attrazione sessuale tra Juliette e Basri è innegabile, e alla fine accetta di andare in Georgie con lui in un'escursione di sopravvivenza. Juliette è molto tentennante all'inizio, però alla fine deciderà di andare. In fin dei conti, non ha niente da perdere. Non ha nemmeno una famiglia, solo sua sorella - con cui si sente ancora adesso e con cui condivide la sua passione per la precisione e la pianificazione. 

She had to take this one to counsel before answering because no matter how badly she wanted to say yes, she knew it was for all the wrong reasons. (Juliette) 

Per me, questo è il migliore libro della trilogia. Non solo perché prevede scene piccanti, ma perché finalmente ho visto un vero e proprio sviluppo dei personaggi. Non sono ancora convinta dall'insta-love, è ancora tutto troppo surreale per me, ma per questi romanzi è l'ideale. Il POV alternato, quello di Juliette e Basri, permette al lettore di sentire sulla sua pelle le emozioni dei personaggi.

Il libro contiene anche avventure ad alto rischio in un remoto villaggio tra le montagne del Caucaso, rendendolo uno dei migliori libri di Leslie North che io abbia letto finora.

Hi, sweeties! When I go through hard times, Leslie North is among the writers those books that help me to feel better. As I said in the previous review, that of “Shattered Love”, I’m going through a very difficult time in many family because of a loss that shocked us all. Reading is helping me, and soon I’ll be back writing because the artistic part of me is demanding me out loud. Guess that you only have to hear your artistical (in this case, writing) needs after a tough period. Writing and reading are my escapes. 

PREMISE 

I started reading Leslie North yesterday, and as I expected, I finished this book today. Leslie is a super great writer, but I would like her cover to mirror the content of the book. In this case, the cover mirrored the content perfectly, but the second book of The Azhar Sheikhs didn’t. I loved this book very much, for me, this is the best of the whole trilogy.

SYNOPSIS (FROM GOODREADS)
Juliette’s life is work—she’s ruthless, determined, and has built a reputation for helping difficult CEOs achieve their maximum potential. When she’s scouted by the royal Azhar family to assist the head of their tech division, Sheikh Basri Azhar, she’s eager for the challenge. The company is at a critical juncture, and it will be up to Juliette to keep the brash, young CEO on track. Shouldn’t be a problem—until Juliette meets Basri. He’s handsome, charismatic, and much harder to manage than she could have imagined. But Juliette won’t back down. She’s never met a boss she couldn’t tame.

Compared to his two older brothers, Basri has always been his father’s son. He values hard work and ingenuity, but he prefers an unstructured approach. REVIEW
“The Sheikh’s Surprise Triplets” is the epic ending of the Azhar Sheikhs Trilogy, a trilogy that mixes
sexual and sexy scenes with real topics, like green energy and social programs to help the underdogs of the world.

But let’s start from the beginning: Juliette is a strong and independent woman, one that has worked really hard to get where she is. She’s been called by Safyia to help his youngest son’s division, Basri. But Basri is all but predictable: rich, young and creative, he’s doing what he does best: creating chaos, but in that chaos finding inspiration to help the others. He will instantly feel attracted to Juliette, and that feeling is reciprocated by her. Juliette hides a hurtful past, strongly connected to the fact that she can’t have babies and this is felt by her as a kind of stigma.

That was when her career still had more rugs to ascend. And now, here she was: at the top of the ladder looking down. Wondering how the hell she’d gotten up here, and if she’s packed a parachute. (Juliette) 

As the weeks pass by, the sexual attraction between Juliette and Basri is undeniable, and she accepts his invite to go to Georgia with him on a survival hiking. Juliette is dubious at the beginning, but she will decide to accept it. Eventually, she has nothing to lose. She even hasn’t got a family, only her sister – with which she’s still in touch and with whom she shares her love for precision and planning.

For me, this is the best book of the trilogy. Not only because it combines steamy scenes, but because finally I saw a real develop in the characters. I’m still not fully convinced about insta-love, it’s kinda surreal to me right now, but for these books it’s the best fit. The alternate POV, both of Juliette and Basri, it’s perfect and you can feel on your skin their feelings and their emotions.

This book, although, combined also high-risk adventures in a remote village in the Caucasian mountains, making it one of the best books I’ve read by Leslie North by far.
